Alexa Guajardo

Alexa is a self proclaimed artsy-fartsy weirdo. She loves to write, draw, decorate, and above all else, she loves to dance. Her passion for movement started at age 3 and has continued ever since.

Alexa earned her associates degree from Collin College and was a member of the Collin Dance Ensemble for 3 years. During that time, she performed in several shows, and presented choreography for adjudication at ACDA. Alexa's collegiate journey continued after a year of rest when she began studying at Texas Women's University and shortly thereafter earned her B.G.S with concentrations in Health Studies, Sociology, and English.

In 2018, Alexa began her official journey as a dance teacher, fulfilling a life-long dream of hers. She has taught at several studios, schools, and miscellaneous workshops in the past 9 years. During her teaching career, she has worked with hundreds of students ages 2 to adult. She has taught at recreational and competitive levels, and has earned several choreographic awards for competitive routines. Alexa is a CPR & First Aid certified teacher, as well as an Acrobatic Arts Module 1 certified instructor, and spent two years as a Darby's Dancers instructor for dancers with disabilities.

In 2020, Alexa founded North Star Dance Project. This professional company is a collaborative space and encourages all of its members to present choreography and push the boundaries of their own artistry. It is a company meant for anyone's passion and skills to be celebrated, as well as a place to grow, refresh, and rekindle one's love for performance. North Star has produced dozens of digital and live performances since its start, and has been invited to festivals and events around the metroplex to perform work from a variety of its company members.

North Star quickly became a dream come true. Alexa feels incredibly blessed to be in a position where she can create and lead a space in which dancers can continue fostering their passions in a way that is collaborative, supportive, and filled with opportunities. Her visions for the company are ever-evolving, and having dedicated dancers who are just as excited about the project is a great gift to have.
