Jennifer Torres

Jenn began dancing at the age of four, first at Calico Kids in Garland, then under the direction of Gwen Owens and Misty Owens at London School of Dance. She studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern throughout her schooling and continued into college.

Jennifer has had many diverse opportunities dancing in the Collin Dance Ensemble at Collin College under the direction of Tiffanee Arnold, and with Micki Saba and Michele Hanlon in the UTD dance Ensemble at the University of Texas at Dallas. During her time in college she was fortunate to have participated in many intensive workshops and residencies from such artists as Pilobolus Too, Battleworks, and learning the art of aerial dance from Annie Bunker of O-T-O Dance in Arizona. She attended the American College Dance Festival, both with Collin College and UTD, where her choreography was presented at the informal concerts.

After college she was a member of the professional modern dance company Elledanceworks for nine years, performing all over the metroplex. She also performed as part of the Danielle Georgiou Dance Company (DGDG) during this time. She has taught Modern, Tap, and Jazz at several studios in the Garland area. She lives in Wylie with her husband Luis, and her two sons Lucas and Elijah, and is excited about dancing with North Star Dance Company this year!
